Chevrolet K5

I am soon to be in the market to sell my 1997 truck and get an SUV.  I really want a new Tahoe Z71 but I remember awhile back hearing about and seeing some prototype shots of the Chevrolet K5, a 2-door Tahoe with removable top.  Does anyone know if this is going to make it into production?  Word was it was supposed to be a 2003 model but the 2003 model year is in full swing and no K5 to date.  Does anyone have any information?  This would probably be my first choice above the 4-door Tahoe.

no, I never heard anything from any magazine, or anything official from this site(that I can remember) so I'm betting it won't be around anytime soon, sorry, I'd like to see them too!

Talk about it just seemed to drop off right after it got started. I did like the looks of it, but I just like 2 door SUVs no matter what. Guess GM decided it wouldnt sell because all of the soccer moms would want the 4 door model. Not bashing the tahoe but 99% of the people I see drivin them here are women haulin a load of kids. I liked the 90's model 2 door tahoe, and still do. Seems like it would be easy for GM to make, they could probably use the half ton reg cab frame?? Even if it was a reg cab truck front end I would be happy, it wouldnt have to be as extravagent as the K5 concept.

Would be sweet if they made 1.  I got to drive an 87 Full size Jimmy at the last place I did volunteer PD work for and it was a nice ride.

I have been watching, and actively looking for info since I saw the K5 concept a while back.

 

I have seen nothing, heard nothing. Nada.

 

If they were to produce it, I would be waiting in line to get one of the first ones.
