Anyone in Colorado have one that I could borrow?

 

Looking to put 285's on my truck and want to correct the tire ratio and also take of the speed limiter.

Did you know it is only good for one vehicle?  It could be used on your truck but the other guy would have to set his truck back to stock and then his couldnt be programmed.

unfortunatly not.  If that was the case im sure every tire store would own one and program everyones truck then.  I know the place i got my tires at wanted to but they said the programmers are only good for one vehicle.

 

Hypertech did it on purpose.  Generate more sales!!!

I just went out to hypertech's web page and they had a item there that talked about it.......

 

Maybe there is a way a "COMPUTER GEEK" could figure out a hack??  Wouldn't supprise me if someone could figure it out.

The programmer stores the VIN#  of the truck. If it's plugged into a non matching VIN# it will not work. There's got to be someone who knows how to "deprogram" one of these things. Iv'e got one from a friend who no longer needed it because he sold his truck. He said he returned it to stock but when I used it on mine, his program was still installed. Don't bother contacting Hypertech to see if they can help you out if anyone has this problem. I already did. I guess tough luck. So I bought a new one awhile back.

You would think that Hypertech would say.......

 

"Send it in and we will remove the VIN from it and send it back to you for ..... 50 bucks"

 

But no....... they are greedy and want you spend 350 bucks.

 

Seems to me like it would be good buisness to do that but then again who knows.
