Need 03 Silverado HD Subwoofer Advice

So i would like to add a 10" Sub to my truck, but I trying to decided what box and sub combo to buy.

I found this single box on Sub Thump:

http://subthump.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_72&products_id=381

it looks like it will work, but there is a major issues. One of the pictures shows that you cant lower the rear seat flat

Well that will not work for me since I need it to go flat in order to haul stuff, and my dogs.

They also make a box that goes behind the rear seat, but you have to remove the flap that covers the gap behind the seat, and I dont want to do that either.

So I am looking for advice on what other 01-06 HD guys have done for sub boxes?

I found this box (its a dual one), it looks like it might fit better, but its only a 4.5" mounting depth, so I would have to buy shallow mount subs. Anyone have this box?

I am not looking for super loud sound. I just want to have full sound. I currently have an 8" in a crappy built box I made myself. I made a box just in order test and see if an 8" would be enough for me, but I would like to get a more powerful amp, and go up to a 10"

Behind the seat?

All the boxes i find for behind the seat are Dual Subs, and they say you have to remove the little flap that covers the gap behind the seat. I would rather not do that because there would be a hole there for my dogs to fall into and hurt themselves.

I need to measure and see if something like this will fit under the seat

What about a custom solution Dan?

I may have too, IDK if the 2 audio shops in my town do that. The guy who built the custom box I had in my SS moved to LA.

I'm not sure how one of these sounds but I found this on crutchfield.com website. There are a few other very low profile sub boxes. I'm assuming you give up some bass to be able to fit a box this small but It's only 3 1/8" tall, would fit under most car seats. Comes with a built in 125 watt amp too. I suppose at this price you could get 2 of them since its just an 8 inch sub.

This one is even smaller.

At least it shows that there are a few choices out there.

Check out the Pioneer TS-SWX251. It is a shallow mount, but gives out good bass. Can still use any amplifier and is easily removed. I have one in my 09, but put stuff on top of the enclosure all the time. Maybe not the best sub, but for the sound, money and the convenience, it is top of the line. I think they recently updated the series, but I would use that enclosure and match it to new sub.

Shallow mounts?

Best bang for buck - pioneer TS-SW3001S2, Rockford punches, Anything JL Audio.

Best quality IMO - sundown's or digital designs but they are $$$$

On a budget? Alpine!! All the way, I've heard the alpine shallows and they sound damn good for the price!!

I'm running those pioneers ^^^^ I'm running a JL amp for each with 2 under my rear seat. They are pretty damn good!! For the price anyways. I also have a set of JL w3v3's they are a nice addition also, the pioneers seem to handle more power though. [emoji48][emoji48] I think it's because of my enclosure, JL's are always picky with box volume.

As for a box? Look no further http://subthump.com/product_info.php?products_id=57

You will not find one under that you can still fold the seat down sorry lol. Behind the seat you are very limited to subwoofer mounting depth...anyways. Never mind my box advice lol

Yeah Im thinking about buying one of these. The length and width dimensions will fit great under the seat, but the height is a little tall, but not as tall as the Sub thump box. The 10" box is 6", but current box is 5 1/2" and it still is a little tight, I have to slide the box all the way forward in order to get the seat to fold flat, and i might not be able to fold the seat flat with that box, but it might be flat enough.

I was also thinking about this box

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/Sub-Enclosures-and-Grilles/UD-SW200D

It will fit just fine, and it will fit behind the seat also. I already have an 8" sub and it should mount, if not I can always get the matching Pioneer 8" shallow mount:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Subwoofers/Shallow+Mount/TS-SW2002D2

or the older one:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Subwoofers/Shallow+Mount/TS-SW841D

I already have an 8" sub and small amp that is sufficient, but i just want a better box. If I go with the 8" box I can always upgrade to a better sub, and amp combo in the future.
