quick question regarding silverado LT

[want a 2500HD]

Does anyone have a rear sliding window or moonroof on a LT Silverado? It seems like you cannot order an LT with these options, only an LTZ option. I test drove a LT and LTZ yesterday and the LTZ had the moonroof but once I was going 60 km/h or above with the moonroof open, the little 4" or so mesh screen makes a lot of noise. when I held the bar which holds the screen down, the noise was gone. is there a fix for this windnoise with the moonroof open and also are the roofs leaking from the moonroof cause I was reading people were noticing water around the headliner fabric but people are saying its coming from the moonroof, 3rd brake light, antenna, window molding....

 

are there still problems with the rear window failing still?

 

i really want the moonroof and rear sliding window, but if i need to jump to an LTZ to get em isn't worth the extra $5k or so.

I have an LT with the sliding rear glass. It was built in July 2013, and came with the "LT Plus" package which got me the rear glass, homelink, rear park assist, and movable pedals. The dealership fixed the part that was causing problems under a TSB/Recall.

If you asking about the power sliding rear window recall...they had to replace some actuator parts...they tended to break and the window could not be closed. Bad enough that they did the recall whether it failed or not and stopped production for a while. I got one on my LTZ build 08/13.

I also got one in my SLE with the Convenience Package. Power Sliding Rear Window, Rear Park Assist, Power Adjustable Pedals. $665 option for the package.

 

I never had a problem with mine, but heard that some did stick in the open position. This was during the cold weather last winter. They replaced a regulator or something for the sliding rear window either at my first oil change, or the reprogramming recall.

 

No moon roofs in the Double Cabs. My last vehicle had the moon roof, and the whole track had to be replaced after the thing stuck open on me, after only using it a couple times. Covered under warranty, but had to get a rental for a couple days. Was afraid to use it after that, so considered it wasted money. No more moon roofs for me.

Exactly. If I understand it correctly, they used a plastic gear,(or something on the actuator) and replaced it with a metal piece. Doesn't leak if it's closed, it just gets stuck in the open position and won't close...

seems like in Canada when you order the plus package, it does NOT come with the sliding rear glass, only defroster. Bummer. My girlfriend really wanted the sliding rear window more than the moonroof

 

seems like you cannot order the moonroof on any LT model trucks in USA or Canada.

 

so someone mentioned about no moonroofs in double cabs, seems like Crew Cabs do not offer moonroof either in LT model. don't think i would want it anyways with the horror stories about leaking, components failing
