Is that with the 4 speed or 6 speed tranny?

Best advice that I've has this year!

6 speed was never offered in these trucks. All the 1500 6.0's came with a variation of the 4L60E 4 speed. Most of them were a 4L65E

How much rust?

Some on the tail gate, rockers, etc.

One site says TI in rough condition it $5.3k, 6.2k for fair.

Kelley BB says TI in fair is $4.8k-6.4k

What I am seeing locally is you can barely get TI prices on Private Party sales.

The $3.8k is a dlr, so it's really making me winder if something is wrong as no warranty offered (even a short one like 3mo/3Kmiles) KBB dlr pricing it is ranked $9.8-11k

FYI, I was originally looking for a GM 00-01 1/2T in a 5.3l with extended 4 dr under $4000 as wanting to get better milage than I now have with the 5.7l. But.... saw the above GMC in an ad....

Most trucks here are selling at or below trade in prices on Craigs List.

So the above C3 is $1800 under average fair cond TI, but that what makes me hesitant if something is wrong with it being a DLR is selling it that low......

I doubt they'll sell it that low being a regular dealer

If I get 12 MPG, that'll cost me an extra $875 per year in fuel based on 15k miles and 3.50 a gal and getting 15mpg with a 5.3l

In 4 years the gas savings alone pays for a 01 4x4 5.3 truck. :happysad:

That AWD is giving me fits of concern for repairs and the gas mileage too. The safe bet is to pass on it.

Decisions, decisions, decisions...

FYI, I did not buy it. Rust hole on driver side rockers was size of hot dog bun, and 1 areas will be that size in 2 years time. On Passenger side 1-2" high x 2; long rusted open hole. Fuel GA sensor did work, tires were bald. They would not budge on price. I figured $800 for tires, and up to 41200 to pull the tank and repalce the fuel pump/semsor. + another $2k to cut and weld and paint the rocker panels. All on a 218k truck. So I passed on it.

I did buy a 2011 Chevy Silverado 4x4 (with limited slip diff) extended quad door for $2950 in the 5.3l. ( the limited slip diff, a 5.3l min, and quad doors were a required for me no matter what i bought). No rust either--amazing as up here 90% have rust at rear wheel wells and rockers. But it had extensive (baseball size) hail damage to it 6 years ago with a salvage title. But only 152k miles.
