2002 Silverado Leaf Springs

Going to replace my rear leaf springs this weekend , look like I have I drop gas tank to get driver side bolt out of leaf to remove it . Any easier way or this simple job gonna turn into a long job ?

Take a grinder or saw and cut the long part off with no threads. You should be able to get bolt out then.

So guessing just put new bolt in from outside an nut on tank side? Thought about that last night just wanted to see if would hurt putting it in tht way. Thanks

Wont hurt to reverse sides. Shouldnt need a new bolt though. Just cut the part off thats not threaded and it should give you enough to remove bolt.

Ok will give that a try when weather clears up .

Got a trick to remove the 3 bolts holding front hub to spindle? Wet to replace my hubs and bearings and whoever done it last stripped the bolt heads

Craftsman, snap on etc sell rounded off head removing socket sets. They are reverse threaded and grip into the metal to remove. Work well if you can get a good bite. I have craftsman set at work i use often.

Ok I seen those and wandered if they would work on bolts so dang tight .

Thanks , the bolts broke off so I just bought a new steering knuckle , got the 1/2-20x3" bolts Oreily said it takes to bolt hub to knuckle and when you get them tight they just turn , no threads are stripped , so guessing they told me wrong bolt and maybe it is a metric size .
