Non-Bose 8" Stereo - Dash Speakers?

Recommended Posts

In the non-Bose 8" touch screen stereo I have a few questions about the 2 in-dash speakers. I replaced my door speakers, which sound great, but are a bit out of balance with the dash speakers. (dash speakers are too loud compared to door ones)

- Are the dash speakers on a frequency bypass on the same channel as the front door speakers? or is it a separate channel (6 total) coming out of the head-unit?

- Is there any way of lowering the volume to the dash speakers without also lowering the front door speakers?

- Has anyone seen instructions for replacing the dash speakers? Does the ENTIRE dash need to be removed?

- What size are the dash speakers ? 3 1/2? Is a special mount adapter needed?

Good luck with your project.

I have always upgraded my truck's audio, up to and including my 2013 SLE CC I traded in to buy this 2014 I have now. While I do have the max upgrade Bose system (SLT plus the option) it has become clear that the audio in these 2014+ trucks is a whole new world. I would be willing to spend $2000.00 to upgrade my system to a quality level I would like, but I'm pretty sure that isn't enough.

The 'radio' in these vehicles is so integrated into other systems it is quite an exercise to get it right.
