Rear end gears

if you tow the heavy trailer all the time then 4.10's wont be so bad as they will perform much better while pulling the trailer. if you just tow the heavy trailer once a month or less on the weekends I would not go higher then 3.90's but personally would stick with the 3.73's. with 4.10's at 70 mph you probably be running around 2200-2400 rpms (im just guessing) which will eat your gas like crazy.

The trailer i tow when loaded will prob weigh between 5k-6500 but I'm ussually around 2500rpm when it finally finds a gear and stays in it,

I'm just wondering what will be best to make it a better tow, I usually take trailer out every other weekend.

What is the difference between the standard and towing pkg.?

I'm not for sure but I'm thinking a heavier duty rear end and gears, maybe tow mirrors

Max trailer package with the 5.3 (1LT trim only) gets you 3.73 gears, 9.75" rear axle, higher capacity cooling system, standard trailer brake control, standard G80, revised shock tuning, heavier duty rear springs, higher RGAWR.

Trade it in for a max tow 5.3 or 6.2.

I considered that, but I've only had the truck for 6 months I'm not going to trade yet and loose my ass. I'm going to rig this one to do what I need and trade in about a year or 2 and just go ahead and step up to 3/4 ton

Don't know what to tell ya...good luck lol. Still gonna lose $$$ rigging that one to do what you want it to do, and also lose when you trade it a year or two from now. Run it as is and trade it.

You loose money regardless when you trade in, but I like to have equity in it if possible and not go in something upside down. Or I may just keep this truck to and get another one.
