2000 3500 trans removal problems

Recommended Posts

A failed cooling line lead the premature failure of the 4l80 in my 3500 4x4 c&c. Having removed transmissions before I thought this would be relatively painless. The idea was to remove the transfer case first to make the rest easier to handle with the jack but there wasn't room enough behind the case to slide it off the trans. I removed the first cross member before hand but I've left the second one because the torsion arms come back and are mounted in it. This is what is preventing me from going back any further. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance for any help.
