Tire Size

I have a 2011 GMC Sierra 4x4 stock no lift or leveling kit. I'm looking to buy new wheels and tires. Does anyone know what is the largest size tire that would fit without modification? I do not want to buy the stock 265/70/17 tires. Thanks.

I am running 275 70 18's on stock All Terrain rims. Look at my album for a couple of picks. I have a 2" level kit as well but I am not sure that did anything for my clearing these.

Without any modifications at all, 275/70/17 or 275/65/18 will fit on the stock rims. Those sizes will also fit on aftermarket rims, if you choose a very positive offset (factory rims are +31 mm). With a leveling kit, you'll be able to run those sizes previously mentioned with just about any aftermarket rims (unless you choose something really crazy), or a 275/70/18, 285/65/18, or 285/70/17 with conservative rims.

I've been running 285/70R-17 without any mods and no issues. I'm also running them on an '05.
