I am told the cab of my truck, (2011 Silverado 1500 LTZ extended cab), is pre wired for a backup camera. I found what I think is the connector. It located just above the driver side kick panel, rearward of the parking brake pedal.

Its a 5way Delphi GT 280 series. Male, color black, 5 terminals all in one row. Part # 15326897. There are 5 wires present:

A White

B Blue

C Black

D Tan

E White.

I know a White and Blue wire go to the inside mirror connecter. I assume A & B.

I assume C might be a ground and/or shield wire for A&B.

D & E might be 12volts and reverse feed.

Can anyone confirm or positively ID these wires?

I would like to use this connector when I install a camera.

Thanks in advance.

I had the factory rear view camera installed in my 2011 SLE when i bought it, and am converting stock stereo to factory Navigation unit for several reasons. I contacted http://www.camera-source.com for information about moving the video feed to new stereo and they suggested this convertor. It plugs into same connector you mentioned and may solve your problems. Heres the link https://camera-source.com/products/wiring-kits/2009-2013-silverado-sierra-convert-mirror-navi-display-without-power-rear

The connector shown in the link you posted is what I have, a male connector. They are saying if you have a factory camera you will have the female connector (going back to the camera) Disconnect from the factory male connector (which my truck has) and connect their male connector which converts the two camera feed wires to an RCA connector that you can then use an RCA cable to feed your non factory head unit or navigation display.

The X4 connector (brown 16way) to the factory navigation unit uses terminal 6 for camera positive (white wire) and terminal 7 for camera negative (light blue wire)

I have that connection established, I needed the connection to the factory camera located in the tailgate bezel when I install NAV unit.

Does your X208 have a connector going to the camera? (mine is not connect since no camera) If so, you have the wiring to the navigation unit. If it is not working then you need to have the navigation unit flashed/enabled by a dealer with aTech2 for the camera.

Yes, have to have unit re-flashed as i purchased it used, there are no wires running from the X208 connector to anything. I have come to the conclusion that I will have to tap into rear camera feed wires from tailgate bezel (they enter cab behind the BCM unit) and connect to RCA plug in X4 connector at rear of NAV unit. My truck did not come prewired and believe that the X208 connector is useless for this installation. I am going to make sure all wiring is connected prior to taking NAV unit to dealer to avoid additional labor charges since they can re-flash new VIN and rear camera at same time. Thanks for help!

So if I understand correctly. You had a factory camera installed. They did not connect to X208. They did connect to X4 ( an RCA connector to pins 6 & 7 ?) and camera works with your mirror.

Did your truck have the X4 connector and it was not used with your current radio?

I am wondering if your truck was pre wired since you have the X208 connector. Does it have white and blue wires in the mirror connector 6 & 7 ? If they look factory (not added) I would say your truck was pre wired. Maybe X4 is part of the pre wiring and by them connecting there it back feeds to the mirror?

Yes, had factory rear view mirror camera installed. Correct, did not use the X208, new factory wiring was added to truck, an X4 connector was NOT used, it was purchased separately to use with the new NAV unit, there was no X4 connector present in truck. (I purchased it to add the RCA in for NAV unit and to attach to the VSS harness for accurate GPS location on the NAV unit). Best guess is possibly all trucks come with the X208 connector but some are not wired for rear camera?

Rear view mirror had white and blue wires previously attached to mirror wiring but there was no signal present (since there was no camera). It doesn't make any sense to me either, guess it does to the engineer that designed it ?!

Maybe a dumb question, but did you have the camera installed for later connect to the navigation unit?

Or was it connected to the mirror?

If connected to the mirror, how did they do it? Splice into the white and blue wires going to the mirror at some point?

When the camera was installed I had not planned on putting in the factory NAV. I found a great deal on a used unit so its a new upgrade.

Yes, the wires were spliced at the mirror, up underneath the front overhead console. Think it was pin 6 and 7 in the mirror harness.

OK, that explains it. I plan to connect at X208. I found a non OnStar mirror. Next I have to buy a camera. Thanks for all the info.
