Are you guys changing out the fluids/parts from your SUVs or Trucks.  I am considering running the following:

Engine -- Mobil 1 (M1) 5-30 Synthetic w/ AC Delco Gold Filter (Best on market for filtering)

Transmission --  Redline D4 ATF

Differential -- Redline 75-90 NS

Power Steering -- Redline synthetic

Brake line --- Motul 600

Plugs -- NGK

Should I proceed..are there any problems that you guys see?  My truck is 2k2 Escalade.

Thanks!! (Any feedback is welcome)

First welcome to the forum!  I am sure someone will post on this tonight...the site underwent a change in servers and was down for a bit over the weekend/early week so everyone was knocked off for a bit...taking a day or two for things to "propigate" as I am told...everyone should be back up tonight....I would give you advice but you really wouldnt want it!  I do know this:  Yes, fluid goes in each of those areas.  Beyond that someone else will have to advise!!!

Thanks for the welcome, NEWBIEZ71!  I found out about this site from the corvette forum.

I was wondering why no one was commenting.  Hopefully, I get some feedback.  If not, I will proceed with what I listed.  It's working well in the vette, so I assume the truck will be okay also.

Take care.

Been ruinning Mobil 1 5w-30 for over 15K.  I changed the rear diff out at 18K (have 24 now) and i used the gm fluid

everything else is stock

I think you're fine with most of the stuff you got there.  I'd be a little nervous about getting rid of the synthetic GM fliud in the diff. and I don't really see a need to get rid of the stock AC double platinum plugs either.

We havent had a good synth vs dino oil thread here in a while.  There are as many debates about it as there are brands of oil.  You can drive yourself crazy trying to figure out which side to take!  I took all the info I could read on it and distilled it down into the following (which is just my opinion by the way)

1.  All in all, synth is as good a choice if not better as dino.  I do not remember having read an argument that it is a WORSE choice.

2.  Synth allows you to go more miles between oil changes

3.  #2 does not relieve you of any warantee issues i.e. you still need to change the oil as prescribed by the manufacturer.

4.  Synth tends to run cooler.

5.  Buyer beware of the brands/types of synth. Some "synths" are not synths at all, or are only part synthetic.

6.  Do not switch between synth and dino.  Stick with one or the other.

7.  Synth is more expensive.

As for your filter, I think all around agree that the AC Delco is a wise choice.  FRAM filters gets hammered every where I come upon a review.

That in a nutshell is my knowledge ($.02) of synthetic oil.  I use synthetic and have it changed at the dealership.  Quaker State because there was a QS warrantee deal with the engine thats practically useless but hey why not.  I think that everyone will agree that many other things will kill your truck LONG before you have an oil related problem if you just change it RELIGIOUSLY every 3000 miles or so.

Thanks for the comments NewbieZ71.  Point well taken.  I would like to add one good thing about synthetics and that is it does not sludge up like conventional oils.

So, If I were to tear into an engine after 100,000 between a synthetic vs. conventional oil, I am quite sure the synthetic one will be a lot cleaner (no sludge deposits).  This is assuming that you change the synthetic every

3-5K.  A clean engine is a strong engine.

There was great article outlining the differences between the two somewhere.  I'm sure someone around here has the link saved somewhere.  Something about the molecules in synth are exactly the same size and alignment or something.  Way beyond me.  I find that alot of the things I do to my truck are as much for ME as the truck!  If everyone was honest they would admit that they can really truly honestly without a doubt feel a difference in how the truck drives AFTER an oil change!!!  uh huh...
