Pillar Pod?

Hey all,

 

I need to install a wideband in the truck so it can be tuned properly once the engine is back together with the new cam and other bits.

 

Autometer now offers a single, dual and triple gauge pillar pods for our trucks, has anyone mounted one yet? Do they look silly in these trucks? Any pictures would be great, I'm a little disappointed they only come in black seeing as the pillars are like tan/greyish.

Idk I think pillar pods might look kind of weird with the new interiors as most gauges are a little old school looking.. Maybe you could get away with an edge monitor?

If you just need guages for occasional tuning, you could consider getting an ELM 327 odbii wifi or bluetooth module, then use an application like Torque on a mobile phone or tablet to show virtual guages

Paint will fix the pillar mount. 3m Mar Hyde or Dupli-color make interior paints for vinyl.

 

For occasional tuning use, I'd go with a laptop or other external device.

I went to Autometer's site, theres no purchase option so I contacted them and waiting for reply. I plan on using the pod adapter and mounting my Bully Dog Tuner / Monitor. Will be painting pillar to match of course. With the bully dog GT Tuner, you can change the interface colors to whatever you like. The Red on Black background combo on the tuner matches the Red/Black gauge combo on GMC interiors PERFECTLY, which is a nice plus.
