Anybody else go to Mardi Gras?

Just got back from Nawlins for Mardi Gras yesterday. The wife and I flew down to New Orleans last Saturday to party up and enjoy up the big Mardi Gras party. My cousin and his wife from Las Vegas flew into me us. We all had an absolute blast!

If there is one thing you need to put on you list of things to do before you die is go check out this big freak show!

I've always wanted to go there for Mardi Gras. I think that would be alot of fun!!!

Actually oddly enough I was talking about Mardis Gras today. We have a recently converted hand-me-down van which is now our "new"(with 90,000 miles on it...gotta love Gov't) prisoner van. It has metal steps/platforms on the side and I suggested to 1 of our playboy types that we should've cruised past our west end bars tossing out beeds to see what would happen.

Isn't gotten out of hand with the whole "show some skin" for beads? Used to be you'd get beads weither you were naked or not... :werd: If you ask me.....

No……no 3-day hang over. Actually we were in bed every night by at least 11. We learned it is possible to get loaded, have a hang over, and sober up 3 times in one day and still go to bed before way before midnight. You would have thought the wife and I would have learned that several years ago while in college but apparently not.

New Orleans is a lot of fun no matter what time of year it is. I have been there several times on business trips and still had a good time even in the off-season. You wouldn’t believe the things the girls do for a .02-cent strand of beads anytime of year. Something about New Orleans that makes a female want to shed their cloths. Heck, even the Trojan man was there handing out lube and tool protection. My wife proudly drug home a huge bag of beads that probably weighed at least 30 to 40 lbs. Not all of them were from flashing but more like scored at the parades.

I went on frequent flier miles and Hilton Honors points so it really didn’t cost us anything for travel or lodging. The biggest cost for us was food, booze and other entertainment. I know by cousin dropped well over a $2500 bill for the flight and lodging alone but he travel all the way from Nevada so if you are within driving range it would be much cheaper. No, you don’t have to bare skin to get beads cuz you can get the boring beads from the parades but if you want cool beads well then……….gotta do what you gotta do. There are just as many females throwing beads to willing males as there are males to females. My crazy cousin showed his crank for a coconut that some hot college chick scored at the Zulu parade. Why he wanted a coconut to drag back to Vegas I am not sure other than to say he did it and thrilled a college girl while his wife watched.

Yeah, I think it is worth the dough to experience this big arse freak show at least once in your life.

Mardi Gras is cool, but I guess the thrill is gone for me. I live about a half hour from New Orleans, and I've skipped Mardi Gras for the last few years.
