Amsoil oil change interval

I question is for the people that use Amsoil. Do you follow the Amsoil recommendation for miles or do you follow the trucks DIC percentage?

Thanks Ian

It depends on which AMSOIL product is in use. I have been going on a one year oil change and have followed it up with a used oil analysis.

If you use the OE oil from AMSOIL, then just follow the OLM. Pretty much the same if you run the XL line which is good for 10k oil changes or every 6 months which ever comes first.

I have been running the Signature Series 0w-30 and my last change was a year in time but only 12k miles in distance. For the most part running the Signatrue Series line you can go 15k or one year on a change with no problems and that includes running the AMSOIL EaO oil filter.

I use the signature series and the EaO oil filter but I am only at 6000 miles and the DIC says 30% life left. When I used mobile one I always just followed the DIC and my first run with Amsoil I did 10,000 miles but I was going to push it further this time. I guess I should just do an oil analysis to claim my worries.

I used to run Signature Series 5W-30 with one year change intervals. It ended up bring in the 8-10k a year range.

I recently switched over to Mobil1 / Wix when I got tired of dealing with having to call a dealer and drive across town to pick my oil and filters up...plus it was over $60 per oil change.

Never had any problems with AmsOil...I just wish they would sell it in stores.

I run mine 12-13k miles with AMSOIL 5w-30 full syn & EaO filter. Nick (Black02Silverado) knows his stuff (I may be biased as he's my AMSOIL guy)! I end up resetting my DIC halfway through, never found it to be conclusive on the percentage it shows, so I just reset it and change at my own interval. I also do an oil analysis from Blackstone Labs after every change so I know how the oil is doing as well as how my engine adapts to the extended intervals.

Depending where you live, you might find it in a local Car Quest or Napa store. AMSOIL is in them around here along with a few other non corporate owned parts stores. There is always delivery to your door, if you are interested let me know.
