Which battery would you guys recommend as far as a dual purpose battery?
Its for a 2013 5.3 sierra.

I was looking into getting a yellow top Optima since according to what I've read online and what their website says "Trucks with winches, vehicles with high-demand electronics and audio systems, commercial vehicles and heavy equipment can all rely on this battery to provide ultimate starting and deep-cycle power." its what one should use if you are running things that require more power than a standard battery provides.

Problem is, the only Optima auto parts stores are telling me work with this year sierras is the Red Top Optima 34R which isnt a dual purpose battery.

Just want to see what you guys have used or would recommend when upgrading your battery.

Most auto parts workers mainly just go by what the computer says. I know some knows what they're talking about, but some don't or are told to just go by the computer to save the company's ass. Look up on the Optima website and find the yellowtop that works with your truck and order one online.

The Optima Yellow Top D34/78 will work in your Sierra. I have one in my Sierra Denali. I also have the Red Top 34R in mine as well. I'm running dual batteries with an isolator.

What are you planning to install in your truck?

I like the D34/78 because it has additional places for side post mounts that allows for all sorts of aftermarket wiring.
