aftermarket headlights 2014 silverado/sierra

I have the silverstars zxe also and they dont match the leds. My Led 5k fog lights match the led halos perfectly though. I plan to replace the silverstars in the spring with leds also so everthing matches up. I usually drive with my fogs on also at night. I dont have a blind spot in the middle and it didnt seem they could be adjusted. I also just switch to parking lights in the daytime also, i dont think its a big deal.

Got a pair of the aftermarket ltz headlights In now. I have some FX-Rs that I am going to retro into them but the mounting points for the projector seem different than the oem ltzs. May be more difficult than I had hoped but will kep updated if it's an easy swap like the oem ones

Oh absolutely. I think everyone should document their adventures in retrofitting. It's always valuable Information to someone.

So how did it work out for you? I am having mounting issues.

The FX-R 3" projectors I ordered from Theretrofitsource do NOT line up in the aftermarket (oem style) replacement housings I ordered from one of the stores on Amazon.

The aftermarket stock housings have different mounting points on mine than the GM stock housings. The top projector mounting holes are only just under 2" apart as compared to the FX-R top bolts are just under 3". Not to mention the height difference.

If there was a way to install the FX-R upside down and flip the cutoff then it would bolt in without any modification to mounting bolts.

I will post pictures Sunday/Monday when I tear it all apart.

I will have to make a bracket at work to complete this install. Stinks! But the FX-R's are pretty sexy looking.

Well my experiment included the fxr, the TL projectors, and the RX350s. The TL is just too massive to try and fit in there easily, could be done but with alit of cutting and more work than I wanted. The fxr I had to make new brackets for the top mounts and drill holes for the bottom. It was decent but I didn't care for the output of them.

The rx-350 is what I settled on in the end. I got the AFS version and also got the non-afs adapters from TRS for them. The bolt pattern on the brackets are a direct fit for the posts on the headlights. Slight modification is needed to the projector to get the posts to fit past the bowl but its easy.

I posted some pics in another thread but I'll see if j can find more for ya of you want.

The TL is the superior projector for me but the 350 is a close second. The fx-r just doesn't do it for me.

And to answer your question, flipping the projector won't work. The bowl isn't designed to reflect light that way unfortunately and you won't get good results.

Interesting. I am going to check out what you're talking about with the rx-350 bolt patterns right now. Pics would be great, or just link to where they are on the other topic

And I was kidding on the flip, I know it wouldn't work!

I just looked back at my pics and they don't show much. But these are the brackets I was talking about. You can see where you have to trim on the projector to get the posts to sit on the bracket.

Those plates are to adapt an AFS type RX-350 projector into a Non-AFS RX-350 compatible projector housing (some halogen projector Lexus and Toyota cars).

Yea, and they are use able for us. We bought aftermarket versions of replacement LTZ housings. The bolt patterns for the stock projectors in these housings are different than the factory GM ones. I will post a pick of the inside later today.

Sucks, not so easy to put the fx-r into these ones as it is for the GM housing.
