Fuel Range

My trucks fuel range was average about 600km, it has gotten cold up here in Sask, and I washed truck today, I filled my truck up and now my fuel range is only 400km. Any explanation for this besides a computer problem?

If you've recently reset your average MPG that could be the issue.

I've read up recently that cold weather can affect gas mileage. If you're idling more, it burns gas with more MPGs and higher RPMs, which means you use up more gas.

It's normal. Besides idling more and winter blend there's also the thing where air is just more dense when cold. More dense means the computer has to adjust the air/fuel mixture by adding more fuel. Opposite has when back in the carb days you had to adjust them if you went into the mountains. Higher you go the less dense the air is so the less fuel is needed.
