When the hell will my truck be built!?

Hey guys, new here but been following many threads over the last few weeks.

Early November I placed an order on a 2015 silverado LTZ Z71 1500 with the 6.2L/8 speed tranny in silver. 3:23 gears

Options:

Cocoa Dune perf leather with heating a cooling

Sunroof

Spray on bed liner

LTZ plus package

LED Bed lighting

Cargo tie downs

Heated steering wheel

ect.....nothing special, no NHT package. I am however having the dealer swap the "iffy" looking chrome 20 inch wheels for the LT polished aluminum 20 inch wheels.

What kinda time frame can I expect? I spoke to the dealer a few days ago and my order hasnt even been accepted yet, therefore my truck has not even begun the build process much less shipped.

Going on a month wait so far, whats taking so long?

Dealer should be able to inquire why it has not progressed.

Found out mine was held up by NHT, which I dropped, and by 20" chrome, which could be changed to 20" polished.

Once changed it was accepted next cycle.

I wasnt aware the 20" chrome wheels could hold up production. But your saying my dealer can specify they put the 20" polished aluminum? Bc I wanted the polished in the first place but there were not an option with the LTZ Z71 level order.

I ordered mine at the beginning of October and I am still waiting

2015 SLT - CC Standard Bed- literally checked all the option boxes,( including NHT) as I figured it will be the last truck before kids.

It took 3 weeks to "accept" my order with a sunroof apparently they only allowed 150 in to Canada (I have already complained about this). Anyway apparently the way that orders are accepted at the factory are that the dealers have a "order day" to submit the order to the factory. My dealer is only allotted 4 crew cabs per month. granted its small but I committed to the truck.

Anyway the truck was built and shipped on the 22nd of November. I was originally told I would have it well before Christmas, then I was told 27 days to ship from Mexico to BC and now it changed to 27 working days.

I know your pain!

Keep in contact with GMC Chat online. If you have your order number and selling dealer they are able to assist.

I orderd a 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 HD SLT DC Z71 on September 27th and it just showed up yesterday at the dealer if that helps you any. 8-10 weeks is

normal if there is no hold up for certain options. I'm picking mine up tomorrow {in the rain..ugh} Incentives right now are 2,000 and if you have a

Costco membership...you will get special pricing with no haggling on price. GM/Capital one card points as well...all helps!

Good luck with your truck!

My order was placed the last week of October and I've been sitting at 3400 for a week. The target production date is to be Dec 8. We'll see how my luck runs.

Denali 6.2 8 speed trans

Sunroof

4 wheel drive

Mag ride

Heated and cooled

Hill descent

Basically everything except the rear entertainment unit.

Chrome was the only option when mine was first ordered as well (20" NZM on slt ; current catalogue now says NZM early production only); when I enquired they offered to change to polished RD5, at the time the only pics were in the yukon info. Looks to me like the same wheel casting with a different finish.

I'm guessing that there is a similar option for the chevs.

On one of the forums they were talking about an issue with the chrome plating plant.

EDIT: it's also possible that by now they are again producing the wheel you have on order in chrome. Get your dealer to track it down, or order from another one.

Good deal for you guys/gals in the USA. Costco up here only gives us deals on fords, and with the new F150 in aluminum you wont catch me buying one.

Here are the current wheels avail on the Sierra as of today

What about 2500 HD? There was ONE wheel that I could order in September was the 18" Chrome Aluminum PYR. I keep asking the dealer for the 20's and I get the same

run around that they are not in the dealership for me to buy or trade??? I will ask again tomorrow when I pick it up.

Like other factories sometimes they have to wait for certain parts like rims before they start. I'm sure they try to plan everything so once the vehicle starts being put together that all of the parts are there when needed. It could be a number of things, even that it's like a 1st come 1st serve type of thing I would think so you have to wait in line once it's accepted.

I wish I could have been able to order the truck exactly how I'd want it, but I needed a new truck asap (wasn't planning on a brand new one though lol) so I couldn't wait 1-2 months. The truck I did get is basically exactly how I would have wanted anyways. It's just missing Bose and wish I didn't have 3.08 gears. I was actually surprised I was about the find one almost exactly how I'd want it right off the lot, even the right color. The non-Bose still sound great and I plan on changing the 3.08s with 3.73s.

Once the vehicle is "in the system" it's usually 6 - 8 weeks. But, that is with all the parts in stock and on the shelves too.
