Ignition switch keeps failing

So i replaced the ignition switch in the steering column and within 4 months it went out again. I just replaced it a week ago and it is going out again. so the torque converter clutch circuit goes through the ignition switch so that is the code that it reads when it fails. when it does fail i don't have the instrument cluster because it looses power as well. i thought it was just a bad switch but this is my third one now if you count the original. so i tested the ohms on all the solenoids in the transmission and they are all good. i did all the basics like looking at the fuses and everything. the problem is fixed every time i replace the switch which kind of makes me think that something is drawing too many amps but i have no idea what it could be. I'm a volunteer fire fighter in town and it kind of sucks trying to get to the station in a hurry and I'm stuck in third gear haha. anyway let me know what you think thanks.
