Audio Prompts Through Blu Tooth?

Guys,

 

What do I have to do in order to make my Intellink play the audio blu tooth prompts from my iPhone 5s? The phone is running the latest software.

 

I'd like to be able to hear the text notices, navigator directions, ESPN type notices in my Sierra. My 2011 Tacoma did it with no extra setup but so far nothing doing on the Sierra.

I've noticed that the only way i'll hear my notifications through the bluetooth of the truck is if i'm actually listening to the music on my phone and my phone is on ring and not silent. I won't hear any notifications if its on FM radio or XM

Stock the only way to do it is to be playing music from the phone via the BT connection, otherwise it wont work.
