I never heard of needing a bigger alt for a plow. Why would you need one?

Depends on what you want to spend. I have a 300 amp from DC Power Engineering but it isnt cheap, but the front half of the case is also anodized billet aluminum

Seeing as you do have the 125 alternator, I'd imagine that your truck doesn't have plow prep, which not only is the higher alternator but the higher front axle weight rating. If you have anything big up front you will exceed your front axle rating very fast so keep that in mind.

correct, not plow prep. I have added timbrens to the front. I only have 4800# springs and not the 5200#. Ive done some research and the olny radiance is the springs so I figure worst case is I can swap them out. I like the softer ride now.

Look at DC Power Engineering. They have different options. I went with the pretty one because i wanted it. I just needed more power

I've got the optional 145 amp alt on my 2005 8.1L. At the time you could order a dual alt. option. That would be 2 x 145 amps or 290 amps total. If you could get the brackets you could get a second alt and be good to go with a OE style little wiring.

I was actually thinking about doing this but the cost is more than a single ho. I also am not sure of how to wire in another alt into the 2 wire system. Im sure I could figure it out. the single just seemed easier.

I'd just like to have a little more power since I'm still working on my dual battery set up. It came stock with only a 105a. Wouldn't mind something along the lines of ~150ish amps.
