Look at what I found under my truck

Stopped to get gas last night and as I was walking back towards my truck I noticed a rather large clump of salt under my truck...As I got closer I realized that it wasn't hanging off of the running boards as it usually is, but rather underneath the truck....

So I got down and realized that it was actually hanging from a cable....my emergency brake cable at that....

I had noticed in the last few days leading up to finding this that my E-brake pedal was kinda soft, so this would explain it..

Either way I left the gas station and went to a do it yourself car wash and I'm happy to say that once I got the clump of salt off the pedal went right back to normal...was kinda concerned that it may have stretched the cable or something but all seems good...May take it in next week and get my mechanic to put it up on the hoist and just inspect it to be sure...

Our normal snowfall for the KC area is around 28" - 30" per year, so not all that much. This year, so far, we've had 5" of snow TOTAL, barely enough to cover the roads and it's gone the next day.

We do occaisionally get heavy snowfalls, 8" or more, and this is good info to know. Keep an eye on that undercarriage!

Definitely! Just thought I would share this with others so they know! We've had about 2 - 2 1/2 feet this month.

Yeah, I'm a warm and hot weather person... So I just tolerate winter because all of my 4 sons and all my grandkids live here and I want to see them every week. Otherwise I'd be livin' in Texasssss! :D

I was born and raised in NC and still live in the same town actually. Some winters we get hit pretty decent and others we barely get a dusting of snow. I can actually handle the cold a lot better than most people that were born around here. I don't know what it is, but sometimes with it 30° outside I'm fine in short sleeves. I own some long sleeve shirts but I can't remember the last time I wore any of them, even if the temp is in the negative.

On a side note, I remember when I tried out trucking and it was early November. Went to Fort Worth TX and it was in the high 60s in the morning. Well we were sent to Minnesota or one of those Canada border states and it was a foot of snow so a big change in 2 days. Luckily being in NC and how the temp can change from one day to the next like that I could handle it. An example of the temp change here in NC, tomorrow's high will be 16 and tomorrow night it will get down to 1, and then Sunday's high will be 59 lol. The high will go from 16 to 24 to 40 and then 59 lol. Hell I remember times in the winter where it would snow almost a foot and then 2 days later I would be driving around with the windows down and in a t-shirt with it being in the mid 60s lol.

That's the way it is here... wild weather swings. 80's to 30's pretty common.
