AMP Powersteps Like or Dislike??

Im thinking about getting some for my high country. Have any of you had good or bad experience with them? My local dealer wants $1400 installed, that sound about right??

I love mine...this is the second set I have owned, I had them on my previous truck as well. $1400.- installed doesn't sound like a bad price.

I like mine and so does my wife. I installed them myself, wasn't that hard the directions where well laid out. I shopped around and got them for $1050.00 shipped

Black Jack Truck Accessories did mine... $1349 installed. I love 'em. Wife loves 'em. No problems with snow, ice, still work perfectly. And a nice factory warranty -- 5 years / 60,000 miles!!!

Only one thing to note... be sure to re-torque the bolts every couple months. They can get loose just from movement. Easy to access.... 4 on each side.

I love mine. I installed mine myself. You can do it easily with just a few tools, especially if you get the PNP version. Takes about 2-3 hours to install so if you can spare the time and you don't mind doing it yourself, then I'd say save the cost of install and do it yourself.

I bought mine in January for $1000 (plug and play model) and installed it myself. Took about 2-3 hours but I went way above and beyond with the wiring and weather proofing since I'm in the North East. In the last 2 months, it has been awesome but has froze 3-4 times when opening the door. When I called they said its because the steel pinions contract and expand when its freezing out.

I think they are a great way to go if you need steps. My wife said I needed steps. So I needed steps.

I've had the other fixed type. The retractable steps are very cool. Hard to get used to for a week or two. I kept stepping over them.

I highly recommend you buy the model the does NOT require disassembly of each door to get trigger signals. You definitely will want the ODB2 plug-n-play version. It costs a bit more, but the labor difference is huge.
