Alright for starters I have a fetish for clean detail engine bays I keep mine as clean as I possibly I do it for no one just a self pride satisfaction I get when it's clean. I am also considering painted fuse box cover and maybe other things such as intake. Wats your take on "painted engine bay" and how well do u honestly maintain your engine bay??I don't have access for photos but I keep mine pretty much like the pic below:

I too am a freak for a clean engine bay. To me it just shows pride in owner ship. I should post a picture of the engine bay on my 300,000 km '96 silverado dually. It still looks close to factory. I was thinking of painting the bowtie outline red

Wow need to look up hydrodip looks clean

It's nice I have some interior pieces done too. I have a kit coming Next week. I am going to try it myself. It's not cheap, I had my fuse box and vent (photo below) done for $100

There are videos on YouTube. I did not do these had a guy that has a business for this do them. It doesn't look to difficult you need a tank water and supplies

I wish GM or the aftermarket offered a carbon fiber injector housing cover like Chevy does for the Corvettes and Camaro that would replace the oem on the 6.2L GMC's.

I'm not that much into how the engine bay looks unless it's on a classic car, especially a muscle car. I guess another good thing about have a black truck everything in the engine bay is already color matched lol. I would rather not have that big intake box though so I may buy an Airaid MIT tube even if it doesn't gain any performance. I'm one of the people that are into the smaller details.

I'm the same way, I armor all mine all the time. I'm super careful when I change my oil and such. I freak-out if I spill any oil on anything and can not stand a dusty/dirty engine bay. Your not alone my friend, there others like us. We just take pride in our trucks and do it for own enjoyment!

I try to keep mine clean as well. I use Adams vrt on the plastic pieces. Then just apc cleaner on other areas as needed. One of the spots I hate on mine is the back top side of the intake. It is hard to get to so I can clean it. But I can still see it. May have some parts painted to match like the front radiator cover, tops of panels, etc. Has anyone painted the top of the intake? How is it holding up?
