Silverado/Seirra idler & tensioner bearing life

Haven't changed a pulley yet. Had to change belt due to stone in pulley.

Gotta love plastic pulleys. I tried changing a bearing in the plastic auto parts store one I put in our Grand Marquis 8 years or so ago. Thought there looked to be a lip on both sides, like the pulley was molded in the mold machine with the bearing, but figured I'd try. Nope! Big fail on that one. I'll have to use the Dremel next time.

 

 

 

If anyone has to ask why I'd go through all this trouble rather than spend the $12 for a new one, well, then you obviously have never driven in MA before.

Whelp, the A/C tensioner bearing failed already with barely 21k miles on it. It's a 6001 - the other bearings are 6203, just FYI - I screwed up in my initial post from 2015 there.
