R&D did it to me too. I ordered the light controll unit (all 4 on) for my 2001 Sierra. Their web page says it will fit ALL '99 and up. When I opened the directions, there in bold letters was, NOT FOR 8.1 OR DIESEL MODELS.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't work with 8.1's and Deisels, unless the wiring is different for those nodels. They should mention that on their page though.

They claim they have a wiring kit for Heavy Duty's. And there customer service is very good..

Helped a buddy install one of there kits and we ran into issues they had us up and running in 10 minutes from the time we called to the time we hit the switch... Simply had to change the pin placement in the wiring harness and we were good to go.
