Wheel Locks - GM or Aftermarket

So I lost my lugnut key and had to permanently remove the factory installed wheel locks. It was scary to see how easy it was to remove them. Although I'm sure not everyone has this specialty socket, what do you recommend me replacing them with? Factory GM OEM lugnuts of aftermarket?

Also, I looked on GMCAccesories.com and saw there was 3 different listings for these. Any idea which ones I would need for the factory 20" Denali wheels?

I know they're not anti-theft/removal, but yes, just something to slow the bad guys down. I would think or hope rather that there's a kit out there that is better than the others.

Judging from the GMC Accessory website, it looks like I need 14mm x 1.5. I just need to figure out if I need the standard acorn or duplex. Thanks for sharing.

None.

If your intention is to protect the wheels from theft, a wheel lock lug will not stop or slow down an experienced thief. It can be easily removed with an EZ OUT.

...then I suggest welding the lug nuts to the studs. :dunno:

You CAN'T stop a pro from stripping your car. You CAN stop a less experienced thief.

I agree with you both, but $20 for a set of locks is just a little added protection and peace of mind. Something is better than nothing.

yes its true you cant stop them . but the set I used all 24 nuts are locking so it slows them down. and those that are not serious just pass mine by for the next one

From the pic above, do I need the standard or duplex acorn for factory 20" Denali wheels?

Scroll through my posts, i have the gorilla locks and have posted the model number from amazon. i also have the GM version of mcgard locks, so I'm running both. I don't think I'll stop someone but I hope I make them decide to go elsewhere.
