Dealership advertisement on your vehicle.

I understand why the dealerships add some kind of advertising sticker or license plate frame: it is literally free advertising and is likely rather effective. If someone sees a vehicle they like and then also sees where a similar vehicle can be obtained, an important connection has been made. If you see a LOT of vehicles with the same dealership name/logo, you may assume that dealership has acceptable pricing and sales practices or they wouldn't be selling so many vehicles.

It doesn't bother me that they put the dealer info on the vehicle, provided its something easily removed which has no permanent impact on the vehicle such as marring the paint.

Personally, I remove all dealer badges from my vehicles but I'd be inclined to keep a license plate frame on if the dealer was particularly good to me.

For me, the first point has no merit. I won't go to a particular dealer just because I see a car with that dealer sticker on it, no matter HOW much I might like the vehicle. But, if I see a -LOT- of vehicles in my area with one particular sticker over another, that might have some meaning to me.

However...

Remember the last time you bought a different vehicle from what you had previously owned? And, until then, you never saw many of them on the road? After you bought it you started seeing them everywhere? The same can be said for dealer stickers... I hadn't really noticed the sticker of where I bought my current truck (or previous one, for that matter) until I bought it. Now, I see those stickers on a lot of vehicles.
