MyLink easy playlists

After a lot of research and trying different things suggested on these forums to make playlists such as WMP, Winamp, text editors, etc.. I finally figured out a really easy way for MyLink to recognize playlists.

Already had a bunch of folders with MP3s organized within them on my 32G USB drive. Using the below program made this a breeze. It adds the M3U playlist file inside each folder.

1. Download, and open the .exe file for the program

2. Browse your computer for your USB drive, select it

3. Make sure the recursive box is checked off(searches for music files within additional folders)

4. Click create

5. DONE

Test out in your truck, worked flawlessly for me. Hope this helps someone else too!

This only creates a playlist of the songs currently in that folder? So if its one album of one particular artist, it would only be a playlist of those songs?

I'm trying to figure out how to make a playlist like you would have on an ipod. I'd have my artist folders so if I wanted to hear that particular artist and song I could go there, but if I just want to shuffle this mix of genres and artists I could just select this playlist instead.

Yes it only creates a playlist for songs in a particular folder. So if you added more songs to a folder or changed anything, you would delete the old m3u file, and run the program again to create a new m3u file with updated lists.

for the ipod style, you would make folders for each artist, or folder with each genre. you would then need to make an additional folder with all artists/genres in one folder, for a shuffle. need a big drive for this though since there would be duplicate songs..

But the mylink system already separates artists and genres, playlists were my main goal lol

Ok that's what I figured. I just got a 64gig card and loaded stuff on it. I tried to use a shortcut of a song in a separate folder that points to the proper song folder. Works on the computer, but the mylink isn't as intelligent.
