OnStar antenna trapping water

I was standing on my side steps while cleaning my front windshield. I slipped and grabbed the OnStar antenna to steady myself and water drained out from under the antenna. When I was checking out the gasket between the antenna and the truck I noticed a weep hole on the back of the gasket facing the rear of the truck. It appears that the gasket should have the weep hole facing the front of the truck to facilitate drainage. Can someone take a look at the gasket on their antenna and see which side the weep hole is on? I definitely do not like the idea of water collecting inside the antenna and sitting there.

hmm. mine holds water too but is not paint matched. i make a point to push on it and let the water out when i wash the truck.

Weep hole is on the back side of mine too. Mine is not painted. I just washed my truck today and noticed when Ipushed on it some water ran out the front side. Interesting.

hmmm. I will have to check mine after next rain or wash. It doesn't sound like a very good thing to have water trapped there all the time.

I had a 2015 Summit White 2500 High Country and had the same issue, however the water leaked in the interior and damaged the headliner, carpet and behind the dashboard. Dealer repaired but happened again, damaging the same items from the first repair. I wrote Gm, the dealer and had a swap out of trucks for a new one. I had my truck only 6 months and in a new one. I hope this does not happen to my new one, but I will be watching very closely.
