Black Widow Venom Mufflers

Does anyone have any experience with the Black Widow venom or pro venom mufflers? My buddy has a black widow sierra and I really loved the start up sound, but didn't get to hear it from the cab. How does it sound? Any drone or sound issues when it goes to v4?

There is always gonna be a change in sound when it goes into V4 mode, no matter what people say. If it is a problem is gonna be based on your opinion. I am older than some on here (but younger than others) and I have owned quite a few chevy small block V8's with mainly flowmasters but these new engines going into V4 really handicaps that sweet small block sound. Tune out the V4 and you will be happy.

you might want to check what exhaust your buddy really has. The black widow package from sca performance (scaperformance.com) comes with an mbrp exhaust system. It's not called a black widow muffler. If he has a black widow muffler, then its slightly different than current packages.

 

But I have never heard a black widow muffler. Have heard a current black widow package with a mbrp exhaust. Still sounds nice. And you can get rid of the drone with a tuner or custom tune.

Thanks for the info, I would have thought that the Black Widow would have come with a Black Widow brand muffler. Would you happen to have an MBRP exhaust experience?

I've only heard it. Don't have experience, never driven a truck with that exhaust. SCA Performance swears by it and is on their 421 package and 570 package.

 

The only reason I really haven't looked at mbrp exhausts is bc they want to charge a "custom exhaust" to get a black exhaust. I have a black truck and my cat-back exhaust will have black tips. And I'm not going to pay extra for black tips. Black tips do not cost more to produce than chrome tips. So if a company charges extra for black tips, they won't get my business. I'm personally looking at borla or corsa. But they are double the price of an mbrp system.

I have the blackwidow 10" widowmaker neighborhater muffler on my 2017 5.3 Midnight Edition silverado

and oh my gosh its so aggressive especially on start up there is no drone in the cab even when you punch it

but still has that glorius sound I can't recommend blackwidow enough they have the BEST exhaust systems and I have had magnaflow, flowmaster, corsa and NONE of them

remotely compare to the blackwidow neighborhater
