Trans possibly fixed

So I have been experiencing the 2-3 "flair" shift that a few members have talked about. My truck would shift nice from 1-2 then as rpms climbed they would kinda stall for a bit like the trans wasn't sure if it should shift or not then flair the rpms and shift into third. I just bought the truck in April so I kept hoping it was part of the "learning" process of the trans. After joining this forum and reading more about the issues I figured I would bring it up when I took it into dealer for oil change. I wasn't expecting anything to come of it but I wanted to get it documented at least for down the road. The Tech drove it and agreed something didnt seem right but there was a few transmission in front of mine so it would be a couple days before they could get a good look at it. They gave me a loaner and called me a couple days later and said they reflashed the trans and it helped a little, but not 100% and were going to open the trans up and check it out. They called back a day later and said parts were on order and expected to have them the next day and if everyting went well they would be done. Next day they call and said truck was ready to pick up.

On the invoice it states. Cause: CLUTCH

1 Clutch

1 Seal Kit

1 Seal

1 Seal

1 Ring Kit

1 Seal

3 Fluid

Pulled and dissasembled .fpund excessive

clearence in 1234R Drum repleced dru,. It came complete with

clutches, also replaced sealing rings, FT Seal, pump seal. Reassembles and

reset addaps and test drove. Confirmed Fix.

Since picking it up after work yesterday I have not experienced the stalling and flair shift yet, but haven't drove very much. Wanted to let everyone know in case it may help.

Sharp1C, great post. I have had the shift flare 2-3 a couple of times. It looks like there have been a few guys that had similar work done to the trans to fix this issue. Did you have any clunking in yours when letting off the gas when in 2nd gear? I'm curious if this fix would possibly help with that issue. I appreciate any info you can share.

None that I remember, but I do recall one day leaving Acadamy Sports after backing out of my spot and putting in drive, I hit the accelerator and rpms just raised then all the sudden bang into gear.
