So my grandpa passed away back in March and I am going to be purchasing his 1994 Yukon GT. Yukon is black in color with red interior. 4x4 gasser with auto tranny. The truck has just over 151k miles on it. This truck was my grandpa's baby and he practically raised me in it. This was the vehicle we took everywhere together. He was the original owner. He always had dreams of doing a full restore and now it's my responsibility to make that dream come true. So I decided that I would join the forum and learn as much as possible about the vehicle. I do know it is kind of a rare model. I reached out to GMC and they told me that they produced 2603 yukon gt's in 94. Anything you guys could teach me would be great. The only thing it needs right now is new brakes.

I love those trucks.

I love it too. And the mileage on it is low for a 20+ year old vehicle. Body is incredibly clean with zero rust. I won't be picking it up until probably end of month. First thing I'll do is new brakes and a K&N filter. Before he passed away he had a new water pump installed, serviced the ac and a tune up.

I would also like to upgrade the exhaust. Any suggestions? I want a rumble but nothing completely obnoxious.

look forward to you posting some pics. I assume it's the 2 door model. Always liked that bodystyle.

As for exhaust, the Flowmaster was always the muffler of choice back in the day to give it a nice rumble.

It is the 2dr model. It will be a while before I post pictures. The vehicle is in Illinois and I'm in KS. I hope to gather a bunch of parts and pieces before I pick it up so i can get right to work once the truck is in KS.

Where at in KS? I'm in Kansas City. Perhaps I've seen it driving around before.

The truck is at my grandparents in IL. I live in Overland Park, KS

Ah, I'm with ya now. I was reading too fast. Well, I'm excited to see it on the road then! I live in Liberty, and my parents live in Olathe so I'm all over the city usually.
