Spare Key for 2015 Silverado - DON'T need computer chip

Not sure but I have a WT so i'm not sure if it's inside of the plastic part or not.

All of them use a chipped key.

program key $ 75.00 , non program key (door only) $20.00 at my dealership . I used my during the winter .

Time for a new dealer if they are hitting you $75 for just the key.

Just get a work truck key cut for your spare. I had the dealer cut 2 extra at the truck purchase.

I also negotiated an extra key and fob, I have them hidden on my truck but I won't say where!!

I got a new 2015 Silverado and would like to get a spare key made that will just open the doors - so I dont need the computer chip or anything. I tried my local places and none of them can cut these new style keys where the engraving is "inside" the metal.

 

Does anyone know of a place that can do this besides the dealership? Is it even possible? I do NOT need the FOB or anything... just a spare key that will open the doors (and yes I know that OnStar app can do it as well)

Ace hardware cuts center cut keys where I'm at. They can also do the programming as well. A non chip key is $20 bucks. Programmed $35. Works the doors and tailgate, but will not start the vehicle. I have a non programmed one stashed on the outside of vehicle. And my spare regular key in a secret compartment in the truck I made.
