Toyo tire weight

Does anyone feel their Toyo MT's are too heavy? I have been looking at 35x12.5x20 trying to decide on muds or all terrains. Surprisingly, the AT II extremes are around 80 pounds as well. I am trying to decide on whether the Toyo tires are worth their weight. About 10-12 pounds heavier than Mickey Thompson ATZP3, which is a hybrid between mud and all terrain as example. Any comments?

that is insane. double the weight of the factory tire. i'm looking at stuff under 50lbs but not looking at 35s either. i just could never bolt up a tire that heavy to a 1/2 ton. i'd say if you are looking at a 70lb tire what is the harm in another 10lbs if you like the toyo better? will the toyos last longer?

I just put a set on today and when driving I don't necessarily feel it by when turning you can somewhat tell a difference. Nothing to major and with a 35 on ifs your already gonna be replacing hubs and front end parts periodically so I say go with it however Toyo mt is back ordered in most places. I found mine from rimzone.com the agressive look they have is definitely worth it,

P-metric stock tires vs LT 6/8/10-ply tires... heavy because they're built to do trucky stuff without blowing out sidewalls and whatnot. P stands for "passenger car" btw.

My 275/65/20's (34") Toyo MTs are 71 lbs. Same size in Mickey's are 58lbs.

 

I too was torn between these two tires. But opted for the more aggressive looking tire, the Toyos.

 

If you are trying to preserve some fuel economy, go with the atz p3's. You will prob get 3mpg more than what you would with the toyo's.

 

If you want the more aggressive look, get the toyo's.

 

If you watch your air pressures, and rotate regularly, you should get around 40k-50k miles on both
