Powered Subwoofers behind the seat???

Hello,

I am new to the site, but I've been following for a while.

I just recently got a 2015 Silverado...Black....

I really want to start working on the audio system, I really don't want to loose any space under my rear seat though

So, what i want to know is if anyone has measured the available space behind the seat???

I stuck my hand back there and it looks pretty big.

This is what im thinking.

dimensions: 18.5"W x 11.125"H x 5"D

It does 400rms and thats more then enough for what i want. (a balanced sound)

And ya, im a huge JL Audio fan and i love this one.

The amp is internal so i don't have to worry about running wires to a amp and mounting.

You have a crew cab yea? If you can fit them back there, why not. I know on my double cab there is not that much room.

It might fit behind the seats, but after installing it there, you will probably not be able to lift up the seat. I have a tow strap, seat cover, tool box, etc. underneath my back seats and when I have my dog with me I try to put stuff underneath/behind the rear seats so I can fold up, but if anything is shoved under there, the seat will not fold up all the way.

Ah, good point, the seat moves just a little. Well, ill take measurements, with the seat up and see.

What's the sound quality of those?

From what i heard they're pretty good.

Probably not "shaking your car and heard around the block" crazy, but should fill in the sound real well.

I slipped a JL micro 6" and amp UNDER my double cab rear seat and it sounds pretty good. I didn't intend for it to be heard blocks away, but in the cab it thumps pretty good. I did a small write up on it with some pics
