2015 Heater AC Controller Switch to Automatic

I have a 2015 Sierra 1500 Base that has a manual AC controler. Does anyone know if you buy the automatic control and replace the manual one, will it work. Seems like everything would be inside the controler and an easy switch. Part is not expensive, but it's not returnable. I really hate mine came with manual control.

Thanks

Can't readily be done. In addition to the electrical connection not being the same-

The heater box will not have the additional blend door for dual zone

You won't have the aspirator in the headliner for temperature sensing

You may not have the sun sensor on the dash

You'd have to find someone to reprogram the body control module (your dealer can't/won't).

Unfortunately you'll need to live with manual controls or trade the truck for one with dual zone if it is that important.

Dual zone air is not even available as and an option on the base trim of DC and CC trucks. It's optional on dc and cc SLE's.

On regular cab it is not an option on either trim level. (Reg cabs are not available in SLT trim.)

There's also at least one other thread on here discussing the same thing (should have come up in a search) with the same general response: way more to it than changing the control knob and it definitely isn't worth your while to try and tackle. By the time you're done with all of the necessary changes, you could have paid the difference and traded up and money left over.
