Anyone from Nova Scotia?

I know there's a regional area on here but there's not much traffic there and I'm hoping for some responses.

 

I'm moving to Halifax in a month or so for work and wondering about lifted truck laws there. I've researched online but I'm getting a lot of different info and even some conflicting info. Am I gonna be in trouble with a 10" lift?

Not sure how accurate the info is, but according to AAA, bumper height rules as follows:

Top of bumper to ground measurement to be at least 14". Bottom of bumper to ground measurement to be no more than 22".

Reading the Motor Vehicle Act for Nova Scotia, I didn't see any mention of lift laws there.

Hey, I am currently living in Halifax. My truck is not lifted, however I do not believe there are any rules against lifts. The only rules I am aware of are in regards to tires and tire size; if they are wide ensure you have fender flares to match the width. Your tinted taillights might also be an issue.

Thanks for the info. That is good news if that's all accurate. Those would be fairly easy to fix. I'm just hoping it's nothing too major and I don't end up just having to sell it.

I just came back to Alberta from there. My father in law showed me how he drills holes in various places on the truck in order to spray in rust inhibitor. And gets his vehicles undercoated once per year. He said they salt the hell out if the roads in winter out there due to rain/ snow cycles. Just a heads up. We were there one day and the rotors on our minivan were turning orange already

I'm from New Bruswick which isnt far off. There is no lift laws where we are however some cops will give you a hard time about tires sticking out too far. But yet again, you may never have a problem! I know a lot of guys running wide offsets without flares and never get bothered.

Now for tinted taillights...it is illegal however you wont get bothered usually if they aren't too crazy black. The biggest issue is your MVI inspection. Some places willl pass some will fail you on it. Again, depends how dark and where you go. Ive run smoked tails on my last 2 vehicles and nv got bothered.

Tinted Windows is illegal as well and cops are more harsh about windows then they are tail lights. I will almost garantee you will get stopped for your windows.

Now for the snow, you will definitly want to undercoat your truck every year if you want to keep it good. Most people will run seperate rims with winter tires because the salt will ruin them if you dont take care of them throughout the winter!
