Has anyone experienced a front end howl at 60-80kms/hr? I have checked the diff oil, tire pressures, operated truck in 2-wheel and 4 wheel drive with the same results. At 10-20kms/hr, it feels like a wheel bearing growling in the steering wheel. Taken back to dealer, and they say it is the tires. I told them to rotate them, but they would not. Have BF Goodrich tires with 42K on them. Just wish GM would stand behind there vehicle a bit better. This noise is driving me crazy!!!!

Tires with that many miles are prone to howl, depending on the tread pattern. When did you notice the noise starting?

Started around 20K kms. I have had these style of tires on two different duramax's with some road noise. Have to rotate tires and see what happens.

Finally rotated the tires and has seemed to really help. The front tires were cupped causing the noise. Happy that's all it was!

Tires should not be cupped, have the alignment checked.

Front left hub started at 15k miles. Of course the dealer could not hear or replicate it, first thing was a rotate and balance, then they threw a left hub assembly at it, and nothing. rotated the tires from side to side and it seemed to quiet it down. I now have 16.5K and the left front still howls (exactly like a bad bearing hub, I've had 4 HD's now and changed all previous 3). I have determined (for now) that Goodyear tires are junk, wear odd, make noise, and suck in the mud and snow. The first and only pair I'll ever own.

So I assume the noise went away when you changed tires? I'm just dumbfounded, this is the loudest truck going down the road since my first one at age 16. That was a 72' Chevy 4x4
