Looking to get a new truck. I have had my Chevy for 16 years and time for a new one.(although nothing wrong with it) What do you guys think of this possiable purchase?

2015 GMC SLT Crew Cab Z71. List for $51650. Total with taxes $45800. ( I think thats too high)

However there is another option. I was going to sell my current truck for about 5K. (thats the retail) and trade book value is about $3250.

I Nego the trade amount to $6500. About $1500 more than I can sell for. Total would be $38,800 with trade.

What are you guys seeing or think this is a fair price? Thanks for any imput

I think you're crazy thinking you're gonna get double the trade in value on your truck (unless you're paying full sticker price on the truck).

Other than that, getting a 51650 truck out the door for 45800 isn't bad at all. It's basically getting about 10K off the truck, which seems to be about on par.

Average deal.

I traded in a piece of crap blazer that wasn't worth $500 and got $2000 trade in value on a previous purchase. You won't know until you ask. I would start with 6500 trade in and go no less than 5k. Your deal is average but you can squeeze more. I got SLT all terrain, 53750 sticker for 44000 out the door with tax and fee included, no trade or money down. Don't settle. Get the deal and a truck that will leave you walking away smiling, not second guessing yourself.

Also you have to remember that 2016 models will be rolling on dealers lot by the end of the month. It would probably be best and wait until the end of the month and and the 2016's are on the lot.

Tax/licences depends on where you live. Pull the tax/lic out, so we can compare apples to apples.

I just purchased mine @ ~11K off sticker. My truck was ~55K, so 20% off. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

I would say you would have to be somewhere in the vicinity of ~20% +/- to get a deal that many others have been getting lately. imo.

Good luck, Mike

thanks for all the replys. I feel just about the same as all of you do. I think its average but can do a little better. One issue around here is only two GMC dealers and not a lot of selection. I could travel out of state ( I live in MS) and probably get a little better deal but would cost money and time to go get it. I will still nego more on this current and see if they will come down more. If not, I have no problem walking away.

Anymore input will be appreciated.
