Hello,

Just picked up a clean 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali with 73K miles. First GM pickup. Love it!

Look forward to working on it for a long time to come. Will contribute whenever I can.

Thanks,

Scott

Welcome to the site! How do you like the Quadrasteer? That's a rare thing these days- they never made many to begin with.

Hi Mike, thanks to you and all the others for the welcome! You guys are awesome!

I'm a bit mixed on the QuadraSteer actually. I LOVE the beefier (dually-esque) look of the wider rear end, no doubt to compensate for the 12 degrees of steering back there. If I ever have to replace the wheels, I might choose something a bit wider to fill some of the extra space in the well but it looks great stock.

I can definitely see how towing a horse trailer or large camper/RV would benefit by the 4 wheel steering but my towing will primarily be for a bass boat and tool rentals relatively close to home so it wasn't a specific selling point for me.

Talking to mechanics and weekend mechanics (like me), some love it and some hate it. I'm a bit worried about finding parts if something goes wrong but I plan on keeping it in 2WS mode most if not all the time. I guess I'll need to look into whether that's a smart idea or not. Sometimes it's better to "use it or lose it" vs keeping it off 100% of the time. Need to do some additional reading.

On the flip side, it is kinda cool that it's rare... I did not know that until I joined the forums. I'm not exactly sure why it didn't catch on but I think I read that the initial option price was somewhere north of $5K so it may have just been phased out of the design due to lack of demand.

Bottom line, I just love this truck!! I'll do everything I can to keep it on the road for decades to come.

Take care,

Scott
