blower resistor

Why am I seeing a lot of blower resistors sold with the 7 pin pig tail. Does this need replaces with the pig tail?

Is it not just a simple plug in the new resistor , kinda confused on why I see the pigtail unless this is just for replacing the pigtail if yours was broken.

Thanks in advance!

Recently had an issue with the Blower motor resistor and had the same thought when buying the resistor. I replaced only the resistor and it didn't fix the issue. I asked here on the forum what else it could be and someone recommended inspecting the pigtail closely, and wiring, because they often burn up. I found one of the 7 connection points on the pigtail to be black, so I replaced it and that did the trick. Could show up as wires melted or discolored as well. Before you order you might want to take a close look at the pigtail and wiring, could save you some time.

Ok great thanks guys . Sounds like it's common that the plug just gets burnt up. I'll be sure to replace with the resistor
