'15/'16 side steps with gooseneck?

I am thinking about changing my trailer setup to a gooseneck, so I plan on adding a gooseneck hitch before taking delivery. I noticed the other day when I was building a Sierra on the website, when I select the gooseneck under bed hitch, it makes me remove the sidesteps. Is there something with the hitch that prohibits the mounting of the factory side steps?

Just a fluke, if you placed the order at the dealer it wouldn't kick the running boards out.

No info has been given regarding the "factory" installed gooseck.

I am guessing GM is just farming the job out and really you are just getting a aftermarket gooseneck hitch, the spray in bed liners are aftermarket and down down the street from the factory.

I guess what I am getting at is I would rather find a dealer to install a B+W hitch and spray in liner myself after taking delivery.

Steps and hitch are no problem, probably a fluke with the build and price like SMiller stated.

GM uses Curt Industries for their 5th wheel and gooseneck hitches.

On 2016 model year HD, there is a new RPO code as well:

Z6A NEW! Gooseneck / 5th Wheel Prep Package -- Hitch platform to accept Gooseneck or Fifth wheel hitch. Includes Hitch platform with tray to accept ball and drilled box holes with caps installed, box mounted 7-pin trailer harness (similar to (UY2) harness).
1 - Requires long box model C*359*3, (Z82) trailering equipment, (CGN) spray-on bedliner and trailering mirrors (DF2), (DPN) or (DQS) . Not available with (UY2) Trailering wiring provisions, (LC8) 6.0L V8 SFI Gaseous engine, (ZW9) pickup box delete, (9J4) rear bumper delete, (VBR) rubber bed mat, LPO, (VZX) bed liner, LPO, (VUK) tailgate liner, LPO, (PDH) Interior Protection Package, (VBN) bed rug, LPO or any ship thru code.

It was in fact an error in build site, I was able to get both the side steps and the curt gooseneck and nothing interfered with each other.

I did not get the factory bed liner because line x is thicker and I wanted the extra cushion. My only mistake was a lazy line x dealer that sprayed over all 9 bed plugs. I had originally hoped to remove and reinstall the plugs as needed with the removable tie downs just as you would from factory, but they have made that an impossibility now. I cut them out, but even if I reinstalled them it would take a beefy screwdriver or pick to grab them to remove. So I just cut the 4 corners out and stuck my toe downs in and there they'll staypost-143793-0-55793300-1453422415_thumb.jpg
