8.1 liter yukon xl tranny

I have recently purchased a 2003 Yukon 2500 with the 8.1 liter motor. I really love this Yukon, it has 200,000 miles on it and runs like a top. My question is, should I have any concerns on such high milage?

And also, when my tranny runs about 40 miles on it, it starts to shift hard, but if I pull over, and turn it off for a minute or two, it shifts smooth again.

Any advice as to what would cause this issue, not sure what kind of tranny it is, it is not the allison.

It is a 4L8xE trans. Might be time to have it gone through
