Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor Batteries

I put some 2010 Denali wheels on my 2006 which does not have TPMS. Will I prematurely wear the batteries out since it's not talking to the truck? Kind of like when your phone is searching for signal drains the battery... I have a different set of Debali wheels for the Denali during the winter. Those are all dead so made me wonder if that is why. I used these older Denali wheels on my 06 for the winter before we bought the 2010. Thanks for any help

I believe that the TPMS sensors are one way talkers, however, You will activate the sensors every time you drive as that is how they work. It will eventually drain the batteries on the sensors even though you cannot read them.

Those batteries only last 4-7 years (depends on the climate you live in). We've seen them last a year even. I don't think they transmit when not learned to a vehicle.

I've read centrifical force tunrs them on (?) True ?

GM system below...

When the vehicle is stationary, the sensors internal accelerometer is inactive, which puts the sensors into a stationary state. In this state the sensors sample tire pressure once every 30 seconds and do not transmit at all if the tire pressure does not change. As vehicle speed increases, centrifugal force activates the sensors internal accelerometer causing the sensors to go into rolling mode. In this mode, the sensors sample tire pressure once every 30 seconds and transmit in rolling mode once every 60 seconds. The RCDLR receives and translates the data contained in each sensors RF transmission into sensor presence, sensor mode, and tire pressure. The RCDLR sends the tire pressure and tire location data to the DIC via the serial data circuit where they are displayed.
