What's the latest on the 2016 getting the Apple Car Play thing for Android phone? when?

Wish that update would apply to 2014 and 2015 models too!

Im probably in the minority here...but I dont see what the big deal is with Apple/Andriod Play. My 2016 Impala has it but I havent messed with it since I got the car 2 months ago.

I am anxiously awaiting the 2016 update. I expect to be disappointed somehow, but I have hope that it is actually released and adds some value. The Android Auto app availability is still limited though. Once Waze gets added (I read somewhere that it is in the works, but I cannot remember where I read that, so no citation), it should be the perfect navigation solution.

 

I am wondering if while in the Android Auto interface, will we still be able to access media via the USB ports and SD Card? My phone has minimal storage and no SD card, so I would still rely on my USB stick for music.

 

I guess we'll find out in a few months. Here's to hoping GM's implementation actually works.
