Been hearing a squeak when i hit bumps looked under to find the leaf spring bracket is broke... Looks like it is riveted to the frame of the truck... Wtf am i pose to do... Looks to be cast iron so idk how a weld would hold up if i were to weld it... What a drag...a8d1798976b0aa2975ff7ede8c764eca.jpg79e19620e41c977eec4163fe8127daa8.jpg

I just bought the truck less than a month ago... Never hauled anything but leaves that have fallen into the bed... It just sucks that the only thing that has been holding it together is the bolt... Imagine the damage that could have been done if this was left unnoticed... I have a friend that owns a frame shoo that said he will weld it for me or i could weld it myself.... I called GM and they told me to take it to the dealership so they could do a "check on it" i told them there is bo checking it its clearly broke and a major safety hazard... All they want is my money bump that...

Did you buy it from a dealer? I would take it back to them and let them take a look at it, what could it hurt? You never know they might help you out with it.

That's a strange break, never saw one like that before!

Nice to see you got it taken care of. If I were you, I would have the other side strengthened as well, just to be safe and not allow it a chance to break like the other side.

Have you talked to the dealership where the truck was purchased? It would be interesting to hear what they have to say about that.

Looks good.

I would of added some extra metal to help brace it and prevent it from breaking again but I tend to over do things.

I actually thought about adding some metal but frame shop told me it would be fine just like it is...

I bought the truck used but it was November 25th... Less than a month ago... I knew i would have to drive it to the dealership which is out of state... Pay them to tell me that it was broke and then pay them to fix it the most expensive way...bump that

If you bought it a month ago, I would absolutely take it to them and ask them what they knew about it. They won't charge you for it...at least a "good" dealership won't.

They wouldnt mess with it im sure... They wouldnt mess with the tpms when the light was on the dic.. I had to just reset it easy fix but they thought they would be out money and told me i was getting a deal already... Also the cruise wouldnt work.. I fixed it also by putting a new brake switch... Had the clunk from the spline yoke also.. Guess who fixed it? Me.. Left rear power window would roll down from its switch.. I took it apart and fixed it.. I build Toyota Corollas for a living here in Mississippi so i know a good bit about simple stuff.. Im in repair and do paintless dent repair but i have people tear down stuff for me all the time so i learn alot.. Plus i know what i do with my truck u never know about the dealership..
