So like many I regretted not getting the leather seats when I first got my truck especially would love the heated function. So I got a couple questions on ideas that may work. I read somewhere way back when that even the LT trucks without heated seats have the connection behind the radio bezel for them to plug up so could I.....

1. Buy a factory set of heated leather seats and buy the heated switch and bezel and they be plug and play.....or

2. Since a lot like Katzkin could I install them with aftermarket seat heaters but instead of using their supplied generic power switch hook it up to work with the OEM switch since I really like the look of the factory option?

Katzkin-yes! Aftermarket heated seats-yes! But plug and play oem switch- highly doubtful...

From what i understand you would be facing the same dreaded dealing with programming the bcm issue that the dealers say they cant do on a number of add on options. I did see somewhere in a previous post that someone purchased the switch assembly and was able to use one of them to toggle auxiliary lighting relays, but from what i remember, he had to tear the switch apart and physically do some soldering for it to work.

But, i can definitely vouch for the greatness of katzkin leather. Do it, and dont look back. Love mine. Softer, thicker, and more durable than oem by far

Thats basically what I was meaning by using the OEM switch. I meant plug and play as there being power there already and only thing id swap put is the wires running it to my aftermarket heater. So basically a new switch style is all because to me this looks way too cheap for a big expensive truck 91199d1397844634-interior-exterior-after

Did you figure anything out to use a factory switch? I would like to add aftermarket heated seats to my Silverado and agree those switches look cheap.

No not yet. It just now started to get warm over here so I was not about to try and do anything time consuming outside with the truck and it freezing or snowing
