What do you make of this shock.

I just replaced the frayed one(they are 6 months old, OEM AutoRide replacements ) but noticed how far up the silver part is up on the "good shock"(right side) when replacing the bad one(left side). The length of parts on the new shock looks the same as the frayed one after install and test drive, just a few inches of black on the lower part....

DAuBZ5F.jpgIIt seems to ride just fine.....(the crashing sound that showed up when I renewed the suspension is gone with the frayed shock, thankfully)

Maybe some manufacturing one off that doesn't really matter?

The distance from the label to the end of the black section is also different. The bad shock looks totally destroyed.

I would replace both shocks with new ones, different brand, as I wouldn't trust the other one not to break down soon as well.

And ask for my money back on those bad shocks. 6 months?

Those are A.C. Delco. (GM OEM replacement parts). And They are Autoride. The only place that sells new Autoride shocks is GM/A.C. Delco. (Arnott sells "rebuilt" autoride shocks reuses the "electronic" fluid and doesn't service it in anyway from a a faq or email or aomething I read about their shocks on another site)

BWI just makes the shocks for GM/A.C. if your wondering.....like NGK makes a lot of their spark plugs
